Dear West Portal Lutheran Families,
Anna Hu has accepted the Divine Call to be the next Principal of West Portal Lutheran. Ms. Hu will start during the Summer 2015. Please pray for her and current school during this time of preparation and transition.
Fall Concert, held last evening, was a huge success. Congratulations to the Orchestra, Joy Chimes, Jubilation Singers, Genesis Ringers, Alleluia Ringers, Luther Ringers, Carillon Ringers, and Revelation Ringers for a job well done!
WPL’s Christmas Faire is attended by hundreds of students and their families and friends. We need a multitude of volunteers to make this event possible. Please come out and show your support by volunteering, while earning PPP hours. Access our iVolunteer portal to register as a volunteer. Please log onto http://www.wplsf.ivolunteer.com and select the dates/time slots/areas that are in need of support. Volunteers assignments are on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up early! The volunteer portal will close on Monday, November 24, 2014.

Advent begins in December and with that comes many wonderful events.
MUSICIANS and PARENTS PLEASE REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING:
+ Rehearsals are important especially important in December, do not forget!
+ JUBILATION SINGERS will present a short Program for the WPL Ladies Auxiliary on Thursday Dec. 11th at 12 Noon in addition to regular Wednesday Chapels
+ PARENTS PLEASE CHECK backpacks for speciffic information about your child’s choir schedule for the month.
+ IF YOU ARE OR KNOW a former WPLS Orchestra member they are invited to participate with the
WPL School orchestra at the School Christmas Program on Wednesday evening Dec. 17th.

Calling all Bakers!
Support the West Portal Lutheran Parent Teacher League as we raise funds for new curtains for the stage in the gym and for WPL’s enrichment programs.
What makes a Bake Sale successful? Homemade treats that you love! Don’t get stuck thinking that it’s all about cookies and cupcakes! Think about other goodies that make our holidays special. Be creative!
2 PPP hours will be credited for HOMEMADE:
2 dozen cookies/bar cookies/candies or
1 bundt cake or 2 loaves quick bread (uncut) or
1 dozen mini tarts or wrapped cake pops or
1 gallon (12 cups) party Chex mix or spiced nuts
Maximum of 8 PPP hours will be granted.
Drop off: Friday, Dec 5th - 7:30am – 9:30am in Sloat Fellowship Hall Kitchen
Please note: The Bake Sale Committee reserves the right to determine which baked goods will be eligible for PPP hour credit.
Please no large cakes or pies that require cutting or anything that needs to be refrigerated. No pre-packaged treats like Oreos, Kudos bars, Little Debbie snack cakes. Due to time restraints, no PPP hours will be given for goodies dropped off after Friday morning!
